Hello,
I like to use the phase fx to create a wider and more clear sound for my guitar tracks. I use two mics, one about twelve feet away from the amp facing towards the wall, which picks up the low end body of the guitar sound, and another mic about twelve feet away, also facing somewhat away from the amp, but more direct than the first mic I described. I will put the phase effect on the second mic after an eq, which I use to pick up the high end bite and more overall clarity of my guitar sound. This sounds great through my monitors, but on car speakers at higher volumes, it causes distortion or some sort of clipping that muds up the mix. Also causes distortion through headphones as well. I've singled out that this is where the distortion is coming from. Any ideas on how to correct the issue while still being able to use the phase effect, or another way to have clarity through the mix without using phase? Thank you
