One nice thing about the GTX 1000 series... is that you can get a card with 0dB fan mode (meaning the fans don't run at all under lighter graphic loads).

I have mentioned that before in this thread, I have such and I am happy

For the future, in case you have tested: are upper models (1060+) can also be silent when switched to (light) 3D mode? To avoid the risk, I took 1050. In 2D, the frequency is near the floor and so the power consumption. I guess 1060+ does the same. But in light 3D, when the frequency is normal, 1050 consumes under 40% TDP. With 75W, that is still can be cooled passively. But 1060 is 120W. If it also consume 40%, fan will start turning... but if it does switch the same power as 1050, so will consume like 20% TDP, it can be silent. That will be good to know.

I have the 4 GB version of the 750 Ti (your first link above). Love it. Very quiet.

hey there ...
Installing it right now, (I'm on laptop) Yes. Quieter than my older ATI.

... one problem ... it's not seeing my second monitor.
They're both hooked up to the DVI ports
Is it possible that this card doesn't support 2 monitors when both are hooked up to the 2 DVI ports?

Ahhh ... is it that one port is digital DVI and one analog and only the analog one will run on an analog cable?
I have both monitors on analog cable with adapters ---
hummm ...
gonna have to dig around for a pure DVI Digital cable and see.

Thanks!

So Final update on this:
No problem installing the 32bit drivers for Windows XP
However,
The driver install failed with 3 different versions including the newest on Win7 64.

What got it fixed was telling Windows to find the driver at windows update.
That went smooth as silk on both Win7 64 partitions on this PC.
I didn't even attempt the nVidia software / driver install with an nVidia package on the second Win7 64 OS.
Just had Windows find it at Windows update and it was perfect.

I failed to mention, it's a Quad boot - 2 xp 32 OS and 2 Win7 64 OS on the same PC.

As to the digital cable, I just need to get a longer (10 foot) one. DVI-D to DVI-D.
My main monitor has DVI-D in and the secondary is VGA.
Tested the secondary on the DVI-I out of the card and it works.
I'm guessing the The DVI-D port won't drive an analog connection so I just have to swap
cables when the new one arrives.

Oh ... and it is "whisper quiet" and quieter than my old ATI x800XL.
