Some people love OSX but hate the hardware.
And they are now taking away features people use daily on new hardware, and you must buy that feature, via USB dongles, special cables and so on.
One thing to be sure of is that it is a shift in the air.
Pro audio / video people go to Windows or Hackintosh.
I have just 3 videos here, but I bet there is 1000 more.
Do you have any experience in this yourself?

Of course, there's all the people who are too busy actually accomplishing something with their Mac to waste time putting on a show playing reviewers online...

I don't trust people who make a show out of their opinion.

Of course, not everything is perfect in Apple land. I have a lot of things that I don't like on my list. But I work with both PC and Mac I can't imagine my studio not being Mac-based.

How can one make a show without an oppinnion? Every artistik gesture is a statement.

That people say their opinnion on Youtube does not make them right, but it shoemws that they have guts to say it. You dont need to agree with them. I seldom do. But listening to others opinions does not weaken mine. It only gives me more info to base mine on.

You shouldn't use others 'opinions' as a base for your own 'opinion', regardless of who they are, your opinion should be based pretty much entirely on your first hand experience with the product, basing an opinion on the opinion of others (even if partially), is pure folly, and almost certain to lead to erroneous assumptions, especially if there hasn't been any good solid first hand experience, that's just my opinion.

What I mean is that this kind of review usually tells you more about the reviewer than the product they are allegedly reviewing.

Underneath it all, there is usually very little substance. It's all bling and posturing.People wanting their 15 minutes of fame.

As for having the guts to say what they "think"...

I don't know what to tell you. Facebook. Yelp. The comment sections on every web site. Bloggers. Podcasts... Seems everyone is a journalist, a critic, a reviewer, an engineer, a physician, an astro physician, a biologist, a linguist, a psychologist, a climate specialist, and so on... Opinions are everywhere.

Although most of them can hardly spell their own name and many of them believe the earth is flat and Australia is made up.

Guts are not the problem. Brains are an entirely different story.

May also be worth mentioning that there's a lot of insecure people out there who seem to want Apple to fail - as if that somehow validated their choice of platform, least they feel threatened. There is such a thing as confirmation bias...

I'm guessing this is why hardly a month goes by on most forums dedicated to PC software without someone posting some anti-Apple content. People have been posting about the demise of Apple for as long as I've been making music on a computer almost two decades ago.... Conjectures and nothing more.

I resisted apple (not their phones or other items.  Just their computers) for decades.  I always thought "why pay so much more for underpowered hardware?  I can do the same on windows".  I always thought "who cares about the OS.  Its the programs".

Well, I finally had enough of Windows,  their ridiculous forced updates..all the bs that goes along with it.

I recently purchased a MacBook Pro 15 2018.  I gotta say, I absolutely love it.  After decades of wrestling with Windows, it feels great to just get on with the artistic side.  Its really been amazing.   Sure,  I learned to wrestle with Windows and I got it to do what I wanted.  But at the cost of a lot of time and and frustration. OSX is fantastic.  Head and shoulders above Windows.  It makes a difference.  For example,  core audio is built into the OS.  Its specifically designed for audio and the arts.  I can set my sound card to 16 samples for .04ms of latency.  And I get no crackles! Thats amazing.   Best I could do with windows was 48 samples.  Not bad,  but that was after a lot of digging in and turning off services and messing with the BIOS,  etc..,.

But its more than that.  Its the way its all so well thought out.  Its elegant.  And beautiful.  Security is built in to the OS.  Everything about is well thought out.  These are things I didn't think I cared about.  But after experiencing how superiors OSX is,  How awesome Logic is... I could never go back to Windows. I've finally seen the light. I now understand why pro's choose Mac.

What difference does it make ?

Both Apple and Microsoft are sucka$$  companies that only care about themselves and their bottom line .

Giving me what I really want or need in a quality computer (that I can afford ) does not seem high on either companies agenda

But why not a Hackintosh instead?
