Now that i have exported my completed song to mp3, I now cant upload it onto the internet because the file is too large...Is there anyway I can compress a file?

Are you using Soundckick? They have a limit of 10mb. If your song is really loud, it will only compress to 11.

you need to startfrom the original wave file ad recompress to MP3 using a smaller setting.

Sorry, that was my evil twin...Skippy.
Our server went down at work as I was typing the real message, and I couldn't sent it 'til I got home.
Anyhow, as Robo said, you need to start from the original wav.
Export your project as a 16 bit/44.1khz wav. Then convert it to a 128kbps, constant bitrate MP3. A 3 minute song will be about 3mb.

places like audiostreet will allow single songs to be upwards of 15mb in size, which is pretty generous for a single MP3 encoded at 128!

oh, and it will automatically encode it to 128 if it isn't already, but the file must still be within the 15mb limit prior.

And as a sidenote: Acidplanet.com allows 20MB song uploads and video's. Get's way higher when you upgrade to Prozone account which actually costs nothing when you look at the features you get.
