I think this is well priced.  It is not a huge amount of money and there will be a lot of valuable information in his videos and presentations.

At some point if you want to get into composing, large orchestral arrangements are going to be the norm and pop up often.  I have done my share of them myself.  Back in 1983 I was lucky to be mentored for a little while by a great Australian production library composer who owned a Fairlight then and came from a classical background. (series  III model too with the pristine 16 bit sound)  He was killer at coming up with super orchestral film music.  He showed me a ton of stuff and I have used it ever since.  He was also great at using modern technology as well to do it and now we have it more than ever before.  The Fairlight was great at doing all that even then.  EMU samplers could also do it at the time.  We have some pretty awesome orchestral tools now though you must admit.

Hans will be teaching the same sort of things I reckon. His scores are incredible and contain so many great examples of orchestral arrangements. It is a powerful tool.  I am sure you will pick up some of the inner workings of making music like this.

The other good thing about Hans too is he combines the total full orchestral sound with modern contemporary sounds such as drums, guitars, vocals and synthesisers. He is no stranger to them either and is great at blending into orchestral sounding music too. Something Maurice Jarre was good at.  Vangelis is also pretty amazing at this too. Orchestral and synth.  It pays to listen to a lot of classical music too.  It really helps.  I bet he says the same thing at some point too.  Just about everything you hear now has been played a long time before at some point!

thanks for sharing. I think I'll treat myself with an early x-mas present and go for it. This is probably way more interesting than any series on Netflix or Amazon Prime ;-)
