I wanted to run a second instance of cyclone, made a bar in step sequencer, copied, but after some bars cyclone is silent. The first instance is working, no matter how long the track is, no problem. CPU is at 20%, some instances of Rapture, Z3ta, nothing to worry about. Intel 5i, 32 GB Ram, SSD + HDD, don't know, system should be ok. But why is cyclone silent after a few bars? (8-10) I don't get it. No Idea where to look at. Anyone?

Cheers :)

Could be a unexpected midi event sent to synth??  If it happens at the same time every time that is your clue.  You could switch the midi tracks to route to the other vsti instance and see if it follows the midi data???  These are things I would do.  Does it fail when you start from the beginning of session?  Could be an odd issue when you stop during playback and then restart playback...

Thanks for your Input. Unfortunately, it doesn't happen always at the same time, sometimes after 8 bars, then after 12 bars and this morning it happens after 17 bars. And yes, it fails at the begin of a session as well as later on . . . I resized buffer size, nothing. Don't know. I will do the work and put all of the samples into the first instance (some pads are free) and see what happen. Meanwhile I've run another rapture, no problems.

Hah!!
I've got it.
It was a problem with Cake's Vst-Scan / Plug-In list. Cyclone appears two times in the browser: as an DXi (what it is) and as an VST2-Plug-In. When I randomly chosen the one in the VST2-Folder (in the browser VST2/Cakewalk /Cyclone) it appears with a VST2-Menu. Obviously Cake handles it as an VST-Plug. And that one fails, it simply stops working. But loading the one out of DXi-Folder, it appears as it should without that VST2-Menu and works fine.

I noticed, that other DXi - Plugs are doubled as VST too.
Edit: They are doubled in the Browser.

Cheers :)

Very few bundled plug-ins were released in DX and VST format. Most were released in only one format. AFAIK, Cyclone was never released in VST format.

Is "C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared DXi" in the scan path? If so, removed it. Only paths containing VST and VST3 plug-ins should be in the scan path.

DXis should never show up as VST synths anyway. Although it is possible to mix formats in custom layouts.

Probably should run a VST reset.

No, C:\..\..\Shared Dxi is not in the scan path. Only "C:\program files\cakewalk\vstplugins" and "C:\program files\common files\vst3\"

Yes, I'll do a VST reset later, now I first have to do what I wanted to do with Cyclone.

Cheers :)
