This is exciting:  https://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/john-coltrane-the-lost-album it's an album that was never released.  (Adam Neely  just did a video on it:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgRxCOr6MUI )  I'm excited to get it for my dad.  He's a big fan.  Listening to some excerpts only made me more confused.  I studied jazz forever, my whole life.  But I don't understand it.  I find it relaxing to listen to, but I've never really liked the theme then improvise form.

Can anyone confirm that the term *jazz* is actually what most people call jizz?  Really, what is the story of that word!

John needs a heavy blanket if he's to ride on a cold train, I recon.

Wow ! I finally got a chance to get a listen to this and it is excellent. Very high quality recording of Coltrane with his classic quartet at the height of their powers. The 4 studio versions of Impressions (one of Coltrane's best compositions) are invaluable. A must-have for anyone who is already a fan.  I wouldn't get it if I didn't already have and was familiar with his classic recordings : My Favorite Things, A Love Supreme, Lush Life.

Cheers,

Bert
