I have SD2 is it worth the upgrade to SD3?

Absolutely
It was cheaper on BF, still a good deal-

Wookiee, I don't have SD. I use EZD.

But everything I have seen people say about SD3 is it's the best version of the app yet. Worth getting the demo and looking it over, but...... they don't have a demo that I could find.

Wookie, I just got SD3 myself and have started using it in a few projects.  It's pretty awesome.  I have SD2, as well, so I can say that SD3 is better because the samples sound that good.  It's internal mixer is good enough that I can use only one track of SD3 to mix the whole kit in CW rather than a separate instantiation for each drum, saving space on my monitor.  There are plenty of new kits and drum style which I can't wait to explore.  With your furry ears, I know you'll take it to another level altogether.

For me, it was. Mainly because I had never bought any expansion kits for SD2, so the upgrade effectively gave me the equivalent of every SDX and then some. There were some minor features that also added value, such as the ability to hide unused channels in the mixer, and the expanded suite of effects.

I like SD3 better in every way. Toontrack also keeps improving it. The groove editor is awesome, better than Cubase drum grid. Resizable window, song builder options, and general eye candy is great.

Thank you all Gentlemen I really appreciate your input and thoughts.  Lets see what the cost of the repairs to my V40's Tailgate lock cost and I might well take the leap.

(For those enquiring minds I can not open the tailgate, apparently the seal has broken and jammed the lock, they have repaired it so it now works with the remote but not the key so it might need a new lock )

I agree.  For me, it's the first thing I go to!  Everything
else has fallen to the backburner.

It was a great upgrade for me. It's a huge download, but worth it.

100% - since i upgraded from SD2 to SD3 I don't use anything else - and I have Addictive 2, slate, BDF Echo, NI Stuff, hardware drum machines even - they all now seem redundant
I also got the Progressive Foundry SDX, a superb expansion.
I have just reprogrammed all the drums to SD3 (which is incredibly easy I should add thanks to the way you can specify input midi in SD3)  on the new project we are working on and I think it has made a massive difference - just love it!
