So, for 1 (compatibility with Sonar).

With big help from mbowitz on my forum, which has provided MIDI messages layout for X-Touch, I could compare it with other layouts with the following conclusion:

X-Touch has exactly the same buttons with exactly the same labels as MCU Pro.

Azslow,

What are the Track, Bus, Main buttons used for?

I'm hoping that the Bus button would control the 8 buses in MB3 or the (unlimited, via bank switch) SONAR buses.

Yes? No?

Yes, these buttons switch which strip type control 8 strips on device. More information you can find in the plug-in help file.

In fact the picture is the same as Sonar overlay for MCU units, called "The Lexan Overlay". Mackie Control Buttons section in the help file. Just with better resolution and for X-Touch

Thx for that. I do not own the unit. I planned to get one next year (maybe March) but I wanted to confirm that was what it was about since I also plan to use this CS in MB3, Reaper and Studio One 2 (and/or 3).

Azslow, you are light years ahead of me on working wth X- Touch (mainly because I don't have one yet.)

Questions: I don't understand "With big help from mbowitz on my forum, which has provided MIDI messages layout for X-Touch, I could compare it with other layouts...." Would you please elaborate?

Is the Sonar overlay part of the X-Touch package or something you made I.e. With Photoshop?

Appreciate your reports!

I also do not have it

Each control on device:
1) has some position
2) has some label
3) send some MIDI message
Since I have no X-Touch, I have asked someone who has it to check what are relations between (1)(2) and (3).
From other sources, I already had that relations for MCU (old one), MCU Pro (current one) and Sonar Layout for MCU (old one). Comparing all that layouts, I could conclude that (2)->(3) is exactly the same as on MCU Pro.

And I also could...

draw the Sonar overlay for X-Touch. It is "Photoshoped" (really done with Gimp) part of picture from Behringer site. I guess by printing it with correct size (you can find BW layout version on my forum to try it first without wasting color ink and good paper) and cutting halls for buttons it is possible to produce real overlay.

Azslow,

Thanks for your help! I just quickly looked at your WEB SITE. I don't understand how to obtain/use the "plugin from sdupayage" you discussed in a previous post.

Can you help me with this? Do I really need it or just Photoshop me a new overlay?

You do not any other plug-in till you want something special from your X-Touch. Take the picture (this on BW one from my forum) and print it. From that point, you can follow Mackie Control help file looking at printed layout instead of labels on device. Everything should work as described (except EQ/Dyn buttons).

To clarify the situation with "other plug-ins":
1) there is a mod of original plug-in to work with "MCU semi-compatible" QCon Pro. Not much advantages to use it with X-Touch, since it looks like really compatible.
2) there is my mod of original plug-in which returns EQ/Dyn buttons functionality for ProChannel
3) there is a preset in my own plug-in, it mimics Mackie original plug-in, does not has parameters remapping but supports ACT.

That overlay does not agree with the grouping on my X-Touch?
