Her ensemble playing comes off very tasty ...the vids are long so I didn't post them ..

Should it surprise us if a woman can kill it on the bass? There are few musicians I play around who are female and I can't keep up with them. I guess I'm impressed but not really surprised. Maybe there's a stereotype of what a bass player usually is...some guy standing in the background stiff as a board with a bass. 
 
I think what I found most unusual was that the woman in the first example seems to like to sit while playing. Not something most bass players do. Or is that also a stereotype? I wonder how she plays standing up?

I happen to play Bass and that clip you posted was absolutely no challenge to play note for note on Bass
 
Anyway , she does have a nice voice and lots of charisma ...I will give her that

I just chose and example I like from her to itrduce, rather than wade through video after video trying to find something technically impressive.

I completely agree!  Singing and playing Bass is an art in itself.  I've never had an issue singing and playing guitar, but it takes a whole different coordination to sing and play Bass.
