I think what I found most unusual was that the woman in the first example seems to like to sit while playing. Not something most bass players do. Or is that also a stereotype? I wonder how she plays standing up?

Should it surprise us if a woman can kill it on the bass? There are few musicians I play around who are female and I can't keep up with them. I guess I'm impressed but not really surprised. here's what she sounds like standing up w a stool  behind her . it's not  like she spent much time on the stool if any ....
i think she sounds better

Gulp,  it looks like my secret is out . It is true , I don't sing worth a $hit unless I'm grabbing some bottom
Since my singing needs work Matron Landslide is gonna teach me how to jump rope and play the harmonica all at the same time .
That is supposed to help me with my cardio and breathing .
Anyway , here's the jumping rope part of my next weeks lesson over at Matrons Studio .

I am not qualified to comment on this subject matter to any degree. I like her playing sitting down and standing up. That was an opinion.
That comment has no connotations.
Some folk do well to be videoed while playing. Others......not so much. Some look great until you look in HD 4K.  I do better in 320....from a distance...or not at all. None of this has anything to do with actual playing. Another subject.
Why do they video players in a studio setting? To show they pulled it off live maybe? Because it looks nice? I don't know. See the first statement.
