In TAB view, the 'regenerate tab' option allows to set the lowest fret, but despite setting to 3, it keeps generating tabs with fret marked 1, when the same note is available on string withing the settings chosen. I guessing this is just a bit buggy, s I'm looking for an easy way t drag the note from one string to another (hoping it would add or delete 5 in the process). I can't see how to do this, draging just changes the note on that string.
 
I've found the easiest way is to move the note on the staff view above, until it's n the right string then drag it back to the right note. This leave me with a star I have to then drag to the right fret number. It's a bit fiddly and open errors.
 
The notes were entered in Piano Roll, and I want to use that data, instead of deleting the note on the wrong string and entering a new one.
 
Is there a key to press or trick I am missing, to changing string?

With the Freehand tool selected, move a note to a different string by holding down the ALT key while you drag the fret number to a different line. If the note you are moving won't play on the string you are dragging it to, you won't be able to move it.
