anyone know if there is a way to see if creator is truly installed?

Start menu - run type winver.  Check the version no.  Mine is still version 1703.

Cool! Thank you! Mine is 1703 as well.

To finish off my case. I reinstalled the Yamaha driver and everything sprung to life. Even better I got a huge performance boost in Sonar. Tracks that needed freeze before now can run real time. If it's because my driver was bugged or 1709 I can't tell.

Windows 10 ver 1709 just installed on my system and Sonar Platinum and my sessions seemed to have survived, although Windows re-enabled everything I had manually disabled in device manager. I ran LatencyMon for an hour and it all seems good.

Good day all,
Well, I gotta ask. Is it 1709 or 1703. I just updated to the latest (where my pc says that I  am up to date), and it is 1703. What's up?

1703 is the "Creator's Upgrade", not the fall update. ??
I would suspect the 1709 wasn't fully installed?

These updates normally kick in on a Tuesday but take time to go around to every system.
Yes it is worth mentioning that after the update you will have to disable stuff like on-board sound cards again if you had previously disabled them. Windows audio has had some further enhancements by the looks of it too.

Cool tip about running winver.  I usually use msinfo32 which gives that info and a whole lot more.

I blocked all Windows 10 updates on my Recording Workstation after installing 10 initially.

Run: services.msc
Look for "Windows Update" and stop the service.

I have two copies of Win 10 on my laptop, dual boot with separate SSD's.  One has Win 10 and all the apps that came with the PC.  The other copy has Win 10 and Sonar, only.  Both have been upgraded to the fall creator's update (1709) and on my "Recording" version, I ran Latency Mon for 30 minutes and no problems.  However, its only the basic Sonar and the driver for my MOTU 896Mk3 Hybrid.  I use this for "on site" recordings but don't do any processing as anything is transferred to my desktop for whatever needs to be done and then mixdown.
