Thanks for your welcome into the forum, Steve.

I got through all of the Compatibility Wizard ok. I also got through the install steps of my disc except at the very end when the install starts an error window comes up saying: The file 'C: Window\system32\msvcp60dll' could not be opened.
So it seems it's trying to install to the wrong destination file instead of 'C: Program Files\Cakewalk\Guitar Tracks Pro 3 file which is the destination folder I selected.
There's probably something simple I'm doing wrong but just can't figure out.
Thanks,
Johnny

Actually, my husband took a look at this, and it's running fine now.

Wow, he must have superhero powers! All he has to do is "look" at something at it's fixed!!!
Have you considered having him stare at your cellulite for a while?

He'd have a job for life "looking" for your brain Petey

hey, i got my guitar tracks pro running okay on vista in all aspects but one, when i record something it records every sound that comes out my speakers?

I'm just using a guitar plugged into a microphone socket by a lead and jack converter.

anyone know how i might be able to solve this?

What you are donig wrong is running Vista. No version of Guitar tracks is supported on Vista.
If it worked correctly on Vista it would be supported. Some people here will tell you that its possible to run it on Vista, but remember it is not designed fo Vista and you will potentially have problems.

We'd be more inclined to listen to you if you could get it to work on XP... I'm surprised you're not saying the problem is CWGTP 3

Hi there Chris

What soundcard are you using?

There's probably an easy solution to this problem once we know more about your signal-flow

I don't actually know...
I run to a Dell Vostro 200, So i guess the soundcard i have would be the one that comes in the package with that. I can't seem to find any info on the soundcard when i google the computer, sorry.

This is about the time RobertB will chime in with his "buy a new soundcard" lecture...

Or I could do it.

It wouldn't sound the same.
