Ok i have Music creator 6 touch and edirol UA-25ex... i was able to record a few songs and all. Then all of a sudden i have this problem... I'm running Windows 7 64bit. ASIO is ok. I went to preferences... MC6 detects UA-25ex... now when i choose the input...  there are no options there... it use to say UA-253x left, right and stereo... now nothing it says none... although it has output UA-25ex... I reinstalled Edirol again still no avail. If I choose different drivers it can I can see the input... it's just when I use ASIO that I can't seem to find the input. Help please.

Have you tried downloading the latest ASIO driver for it?

You can also remove it from the hardware wizard.... delete it. Then restart the computer. The computer will find it again and reinstall the software and drivers for it.

I did notice on the page.....  http://www.rolandus.com/products/details/970  it mentions that the drivers are 32 bit and you are on a 64 bit OS.  That could very well be the problem.  You might want to try restarting the computer and select the 32 bit operating mode to see if that makes a difference.

I understand that drivers are funny like that... they don't like operating on the wrong bit level.   I have a 32 bit system so everything I buy has to be 32 bit compatible or I know it will not work properly.

Thanks for the reply.  I did update the ASIO to the latest one. Here's the interesting part, I have Sonar X1 le and I have no issues with it. I also tried downloading reaper and that too works. It think it's specific to the Music Creator 6 Touch. Imma try and uninstall it and then install again. Hopefully that works.

Re-installing it didn't do much. Still having the same problem. I have the screenshot.

Try running it as the administrator.  Right click on the icon to start... choose Run As Administrator and see if that works to show the inputs.

Reinstalling isn't the answer. So don't waste time doing that.

If all else fails,,,,, email to support if no one here helps you get the solution

Well, I went to the Roland site page for support/downloads and such, and found the following information for available driver version downloads:

UPDATES & DRIVERS

UA-25EX Driver Version 1.0.1 for Windows 8/8.1

  • IMPORTANT NOTICE: When the Windows SmartScreen is displayed upon installing the driver, please perform the following procedure:
    • 1. Click [ More info ]
    • 2. Click [ Run anyway ]
    • * Skip Step 1 If your PC is not connected to the internet.

UA-25EX Driver Version 1.0.0 for Windows 7 32-bit Edition

  • This is the UA-25EX driver for Microsoft(R) Windows 7. This driver also supports ASIO (Steinberg Audio Stream I/O Interface).

UA-25EX Driver Version 1.0.0 for Windows 7 64-bit Edition

  • This is the UA-25EX driver for Microsoft(R) Windows 7 64-bit Edition. This driver also supports ASIO (Steinberg Audio Stream I/O Interface).

Sooooooooooooo, from the above, it would seem to me that you would want to download the UA-25EX Driver Version 1.0.0 for Windows 7 64-Bit Edition, since you indicated above that you are indeed running Windows 7 x64.

The fact that you say the drivers you downloaded are 32-bit makes me believe you didn't grab the correct one.

Please review the above and if it seems reasonable to do, go ahead and give it a shot and post back.

Here is the page where I found the driver downloads for your US-25EX:

Wow! - had to go look at that myself.  I would never have imagined that.

Because of the wording of it being a 'minimum' for the 32-bit OS, I thought I would look at the wording for Sonar Platinum, and indeed it words the minimum to include (32-bit or 64-bit), so it does indeed seem that Music Creator 6 Touch may not run on a 64-bit system.

I would have thought the installation process would have had some sort of edit to halt installation upon detection of the OS being 64-bit.  I suppose suggesting that would be a Feature Request.

I am going to feel like an idiot if Music Creator DOES run in a 64-bit Windows 7 or 8, (like if some simple thing being wrong is what is causing the issues posted in this thread).

Thanks for the reply... I 've sent an email to cakewalk already... no reply yet... it does run on a 64 bit system as I was able to record a full lenght song already. So i kow it works on my system. But for whatever reason, the input is now just missing but the output is totally intact.
