Specs in sig, win 7 and the system + samples are on a 480gb OCZ SSD. Atmos Harp loads in 15 secs.
 

RSinger: Thanks, your system-specs seem closer to mine than Steve's so from that I guess my load time for that giant sample is normal. (Still would be nice to see some more feedback from other users.)
I thought I may have some bottleneck on my system with streaming data from ssd to ram. I wonder though what might cause the difference between Scook and our load-times. Biggest difference seems to be his I7-4790 @ 4GHz vs our 3770/3750 at 3.5/3.8 GHz.

I have the same MB as you - the Asus. I wouldn't think the processor would account for the difference, the OCZ has a Max read rate of 550 MB/s which is much slower than the CPU and I suspect there is a controller chip that performs the transfer, rather than have the CPU do it. There is a significant difference in scook's system and ours, but I don't know why.
