I even get it in GT4 now when I push the cosm button? any ideas what's going on ALSO I did install the guitar rig 3 that came with GT Pro if that makes any difference -- Thanks Scott - Toshiba Satellite laptop, AMD A6 QUAD CORE PROCESSOR, 2.3 ghz,4G RAM,Windows7 64 bit OS, VS-20 STUDIO,GT4 & GT Pro,Sonar X1, 96 FENDER STRAT,Fender Jazz Bass

Hi there Scott

It's a pity I missed your original post, I might have been able to save you going through the re-install

If I remember correctly, all you need to do if you get the "Can't Read or Write Data" message when loading the VS-20 Editor is to reassign the VS-20 as your MIDI device and make sure the input and output are both set to VS-20 Effect Control - this will allow you to use the VS-20 in standalone mode and as a controller for Guitar Tracks.

To perform this, just click on the Setup button on the menu bar to open the MIDI Device options pane - use the drop-down arrows to select VS-20 Effect Control in both the Input and the Output fields.

Here's an animation I put together for someone else a while back who was having the same problem:

Hope that helps should you get the problem again.

And do I win an Oscar

Steve
