What did they do to "fix" it? Did they give you an idea?  Sounds like a ticking time bomb to me, like they are fixing the symptom but not the cause.

I asked each time what they fixed but never got an answer, but since the same problem is reoccurring I also do have the feeling they were fixing symptoms but not the cause.

I'm in contact with some tech who promised to get back to me with info on where to ship it to as supposedly the techs themselves want to see it.  Unfortunately AKG despite being an Austrian company no longer does repairs here in Austria ... it has become a weird world. Looks like the mic has to go to Hungary for service ... with my hopes falling for things to be fixed permanently.

I think it's a fair analogy that most people will think that because something is produced in China, no love or effort is put into the production. Being a fan of AKG headphones - K271 Mk.2, K702 and really want to get the 812's one day ....

Never realised there was an Inverness also in Florida.

Love Inverness Florida....
Good fishing, good food, five minutes any direction and you're in the country.....

Instead of fixing, the factory should replace, after all this. If another goes bad, just reiterating others comments, then look for perhaps local causes..
Good luck. I know these problems are frustrating..

I got them convinced to finally replace this mic. Fingers crossed a new one should show up in the next few days ...
