For a Fishman Loudbox Artist...does anyone know if a 2 switch pedal other than the Fishman one would work...it controls mute channels and effect B on/ off?
One other thing ( I am somewhat new to pedals). Is it just me or does it annoy anyone how loud a pedal switch will click....especially if playing a quiet acoustic piece.
Thanks

Pedals are sold as Latch and none Latching. Many are very quiet I have a Roland that makes no noise,
The other item is if it is a 2 switch needed then it will be a TRS jack.
The manual or sometime a diagram right on the device should tell you.
Example of latching type are the double footswitch found in the back of older Fender Amps.
Then none Latching would be the Piano sustain pedals

You can tell what is needed because if you use a non latching pedal where a latching was need, the effect will revert the minute you take your foot off the pedal.

There are some pedals that use a "membrane" type switch and those are quiet.  However, the typical "mechanical" switch in devices can be noisy.  Usually the devices with a "true bypass" switch use the mechanical switch.  Its sort of a good thing as you know it switched.

Thanks ..my pedal knowledge is expanding. Saw some switches being sold as "soft" , so assume that's another term for the quiet kind.

"Soft" switches are generally quieter, though some don't like the feel of them because you don't get the feel of the "click" through your foot. There are also doubts abouit the reliability of some of them, but I've yet to find any kind of mechanical footswitch that never packs up.

The Boss type of electrical switch fitted to pretty much all their pedals is mechanically silent. The pedals have a unity-gain transistor buffer in them which is on as lonbg as power is supplied. The switch itself is a silent sprong-loaded one under the part you tread on and activates a transistor-based electronic switch which is absolutely silent. No acoustic or electrical clicks and pops at all. If one, or a combination, of their foot-switches can carry out the required function they may be worth looking at. The Boss switch also seems one of the most reliable there is, possibly because it has no latching mechanical parts in it.
