Hello, still learning how to use Sonar. I have Imported Vocal Waves into my song but accidentally, there is about 35 Bars of silence which I would like to cut out and throw away. Then I'd like to drag the remainder of the Vocal Track back down to 0.00 of the song where it will begin to fall into sync. I'm O.K at dragging the track once I cut out the first 35 Bars, but have no idea who cut them. Everything I try seems to cut out the entire track altogether. Any suggrstions.

Thanx

Simply click on the clip of audio and drag it to where you want it to be.

If the audio has silence in it for 35 bars.... set the Snap to grid to "Measures" and right click at the spot you want split....the cursor will appear there....select SPLIT CLIP from the drop down....and simply delete the empty bars by clicking to highlight it and choose delete. I think there's also a scissors icon that works the same way.

Even simpler - just click on the waveform where you want to split it, and hit 's' on your keyboard. Then select the portion to the left of the vocal and delete it.

Or, 'slip edit' the waveform - hover your cursor over the centre of the far left end of the clip and drag it all the way back to where the vocal starts.

All these functions are readily available in the help files included with the software by the way.

That's the cool thing with Sonar... there are multiple ways to get the same thing done..... chose the one you like the best.

You can also hold the Alt key down, position the cursor in the lower half of the clip (the cursor will change to the scissor icon) and left click to split the clip.
