I've never had that issue.
Maybe because I don't store my VSTs in system folders**,  dunno...
**Except for VST3 plugins. I don't store my VST2 plugins in protected system folders such as C:\program files\... or C:\program files(x86)\..

I get the windows update issue. My VSTs are in those folders because the installer put them there. So the should fix. it. Mine are currently unauthorized from the last update

Regarding the XLN issue with Windows updates - that doesn't sound like a I've got my VSTs in a system folder issue.
That info is probably stored in the registry somewhere or in \programdata, etc.

I understand that. But as XLN must be aware of this issue in the default location, they should have sorted it out
