Looks like I'll have a painfull update. Sonar has been crashing and I think it's all about the Steinberg UR44. Not the hardware, it seems related to some sort of pace security crap that's attached to it. It may be a long night.

There's definitely an issue with the Steinberg elicense software and win 10. No output and it crashes any Sonar projects that use the bundled plug ins.

Do not upgrade to Windows 10 if you using Steinberg products like Cubase or UR Audio Interfaces.

Using Steinberg Hard/software, Windows 10 is not compatible now (Performance an Timing issues) within the MMCSS Class

I installed the windows upgrade last night. I had to download it manually because it wouldn't install with windows update. Downloaded the tool from microsoft and installed windows 10 and keeping my settings, programs, etc.
I have to say that this was the best upgrade i had as far as windows and everything I have on my computer works like it did in windows 8.1.

I put Win10 on my Surface Pro 3 last night - a painless upgrade.  I thought to try to install the pcr-800 drivers here on this Surface and (as expected) are still not working.  This is not my normal music computer, so it's a good place to prove the viability of them and then upgrade the music machine.

From the Roland news pages, it looks like there are plans to support 10 for devices that support 8.1, so I'm hoping that happens for this kb.

BitFlipper - My Tranzport still works under Win8.1 - just have to run the driver installer in compatibility mode for Windows 7 and it runs right off.  Hope you get reunited!

Just checked the  Roland website, and it looks the OctaCapture should be supported. But the PCR-500 won't be. So let's see if I can hack the 8.1 driver.

Here's an overview of what's supported and what isn't:

Grrr....this is news since last night, as far as what I saw anyway.  That is really uncool - especially for a device that it seems would be a no-brainer to change the drive for.  Am I missing something here?  Dang- hope someone is able to come up with a driver hack.  Can't afford to replace the kb, it still works, does everything the Axxx series does, etc.  Not that HAVE to upgrade to Win10 right now, but grrr....

I managed to get my VS-100 working in Win 10 with an INF file hack and temporarily disabling digital driver signing.

Mileage may vary for other products, but the VS-100 is working flawlessly with Win 10 & Sonar X2.
