Hi! Funny i havent noticed this before, but I can't find the good workaround... or maybe i am tired... This should be simple.

I want all my projects - by default - to be recorded in 24 bit, 48 kHz. Quite common among us i guess(!?). I have always done it that way...
So, in preferences i set it up as default. BUT everytime i start a new fresh project, it "doesnt take it". It shows 24 bit 44.1 kHz... then i open the preferences window and it sais 48 kHz there...

Am i confuzed? I hope i am missing something obvious...

(i do have a screendump of it, but cant upload it?)

Cheers
Bengt

After a clean startup, i choose "new project" in the cakewalk start screen.

For now try using File > New from the main menu or CTRL+N
My guess is there may be problem with the start screen.

Hmm, it really is this simple:)? The settings in the templates override my default settings? It is different templates in the start screen than under the menus? That may explains it. As i read your post (and also scooks), i start Cakewalk, then x-down the "cakewalk start screen" and then choose File->New instead. Voila that works.

Thanx! Consider it solved!

Sample rate is not stored project or template files. A project's sample rate is determined one of two ways:
  1. For new projects and projects that do not contain any audio, the sample rate is read from preferences (see image in the message above).
  2. For projects that contain audio, the sample rate is read from one of the audio clips in the project.
IOW, until there are audio clips in the project, its sample rate will always conform to the current "Sampling Rate" set in preferences. Saving a project does not set the sample rate for future sessions, saving a project with at least one audio clip in a track does.

At least, this is how it is supposed to work. I believe you and another user have identified a bug with the start screen. I have reported it to BandLab.

...that also explains that i never (ive been around this since ... 2003, but more off than on since, say, 2013) have seen this before. The startupscreen is new with the Bandlab generation, right(?).

Anyway, thanx again!

Right.. then this is actually a bug. Good that you reported it. Id be happy to share a screendump, but again, this forum seems to not allow me to upload.

Thanx again
