I've just moved to a new computer and I'm in the process of transferring everything over.  For some reason, I can't get Dimension Pro to install.    I first tried installing with the Command Center and that was unsuccessful.  Then I tried installing the downloaded file directly...........still no success.  No dll or anything.  I can see the processes when the CCC is installing and everything seems normal, but effectively there is no install.  Thanks for any assistance.

Could you be a bit more specific ?  What happened exactly when you tried to install through CCC, and then when you ran the DimPro installer ?

Thanks Paul P for responding.  Well, everything looked as it always does.  The installer prompt showed the the files being installed.  One thing, the installer did not ask me to chose a directory for the multisamples as I remember from past installs.  I assumed it would be a default type install.  Sort of surprising to not find any evidence of an install.  No folders, dll , programs or multisamples.

No sign of Dimension Pro within Sonar ?

I'd think that if the installer didn't complain, the files must have gone somewhere.

In the Windows registry, under

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SOFTWARE / Cakewalk Music Software / dp

you'll find :

Company Name
Contents Folder
Language
Multisamples Folder
RegUrl
Serial Number
Type
User Name
Version

which should at least (if "dp" is there at all) tell you where the Multisamples are.

You have nothing in "C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro"  ?  I don't believe DimPro's programs can go anywhere else.

Have you tried Windows Search to see where "Dimension Pro x64.dll" might be  (should be in a "Dimension Pro" folder in your vstplugins folder) or "Multisamples" which should be in a "Dimension Pro" folder in some Cakewalk-related folder ?  My folders are my own organisation so I'm not sure where things go if you just let them be installed  in their default locations.

I couldn't find any listing in the registry and there was nothing in the ProgramData folder as well.  No Dimension Pro DLL files in the registry VST registry listing or any sign of Dimension Pro in the Plugin Manager.  I manually ran the installer file but that didn't cure the problem.  Search didn't find any files.  I did notice that when I manually ran the installer file, it did not have the normal x32 or x64 option.  I'm beginning to wonder if the installer file is somehow corrupted.

Are you running as Windows Administrator when you run the installer ?  That's probably necessary to write to the registry.

Failing that, I'd download the DimPro installer again from my Cakewalk account and try again, keeping a close eye on what the installer does.

Maybe download the CCC again as well if you're not sure you have the latest and try it again through that.  Personally, I try to avoid the CCC as much as I can, but in this case I'd be ready to try anything.

Thanks Paul P.  Yes I've been running the installer as administrator.  I wonder; is version 1.5.5.16 [the version indicated in the CCC as installer]  the full version?   In the Cakewalk product support section it is identified as an update.

All installers in the Command Center are full versions with cumulative updates. The only difference between the DPro installer used by the Command Center and the installer which shipped with every X series version before it were some changes to accommodate the Command Center. I have no idea why you are having trouble with the current installer but you can use any DPro installer from any previous X series SONAR and get the same version of DPro.

Yes, thanks scook.  I'll try that and reinstall a previous X version.

I used the X2 Installer pack and that worked. Thanks Everyone.
