I ended up sending
Lynn
Don, another method of creating a reverse reverb is is similar to Bitflipper's but different.  Choose your clip, reverse first, then add reverb to the reversed clip, print the effect, then rereverse.  The reverb will precede the signal and the signal will be going in the  right direction.  The Beatles and others used to do this with tape by turning the reels over and recording backward, and then flipping the reels back.  So much easier in Sonar.

I did it similar to this.  I copied the section of the vocal I wanted it for and then reversed that and sent it to a bus with breverb on it.  Then I rendered that reverb only bus to a track and reversed it and lined it up with the original like I wanted.  I also put on some really wide pan automation on the reverse reverb part and automated delay on the very end of original track.  I'll plan to put up a link to it so ya'll can give a listen.

Hey guys,

I thought I'd let you all hear the end product of the reverse reverb.  This song is from a band called Lead Inc. and the song is called "Way of Life".  I really love the song.  I started the mix out this past Sunday and had it pretty firmed up by Thursday.

Hey, that turned out pretty good, Donny!

Great mix overall, too; I listened both on laptop speakers and quality headphones and it translated well on both.

Here's an idea if you're in an experimental mood...how about throwing in a couple other reversals to complement the vocal effect? Not suggesting that you over-do it and run the gimmick into the ground, but there are many components that can benefit from the technique: snare drum, crash cymbals, guitars. I've even used it on hand claps.

Hey,

Thanks so much for listening!  I certainly may do that...I could use more practice, hopefully so I won't forget how to do it.  I've got at least one more mix due this week that kind of like a pop/RnB type thing, so I may use it there also.

Thanks again!

@Lynn (or all) ---->  what is "print the effect"?

The kick and snare in this mix are out of balance. The kick is a little too loud and in your face while the snare sounds a little over compressed and a little too far back for my liking. Sounds like you have over compressed the snare more than likely. Snare drums are snappier than this in real life. Also the bass is too loud as well.
If you checked this mix on a small mono speaker down low all these things would stand out bigtime.

These are small niggles though overall the mix is pretty decent.

Hey Jeff,
Thanks very much for the listen and comments.  I appreciate it very much.  I'll definitely take note of that and revisit this mix.
