No, I haven't seen that one. I know Fishman has some kind of device that lets you use any guitar with a synth too without need of a pickup. Reviews seem to be hit and miss with that one. The old Synthaxe like Allan Holdsworth used is supposed to have been the best, but it was $6,000 and they don't make them anymore. And the ancient Roland that Pat Metheny still uses (GR-300 maybe?) tracked really well, but it's sound options were limited and it hasn't been manufactured in decades either.
Actually, for recording purposes you can probably get by with any of the current crop of guitar synths since you can overdub and fix your glitches. To be honest, I wouldn't want to play any of them live. When those false triggered notes do happen, they can sound really nasty and out of key. If I had a Synthaxe, I might give that one a go live. I wish somebody would come out with a newer and
much cheaper version of it. I'd love to own a Synthaxe, but a guy's gotta eat.
Let us know if and when you get one. I'd love to hear it!
