Har-Bal 3.7 revision 4 released
Har-Bal 3.7 revision 4 is available for immediate download. This build has the following feature enhancements and bug fixes.
GUI Enhancements
------------------------
1) Previous releases of Har-Bal have been built ontop of the wxWidgets-2.9.1 (a cross platform GUI application framework) which is getting old. The code base has now been updated to wxWidgets-3.0.4 (the current official release). This release of wxWidgets provides significant CPU efficiency improvements over the older release and (most likely) fixes the issue that caused Har-Bal to crash on Mac OSX 10.6.
2) On Windows in particular, the time display would flicker during playback. In this release the static text control used to display that time value is re-implemented to use off screen rendering to eliminate the flicker.
3) Extra colour entries and an extra font tab have been added to the preferences dialog to allow the time display font, foreground and background colours to be customised.
Maintenance & Bug Fixes
-----------------------
1) Editing of Peak taming markers and dynamics markers would sometimes result in a frozen state whereby adding or editing markers would fail until Har-Bal was shut down and re-started. The cause of this problem was made obvious in the upgrade to wxWidgets-3.0.4.
2) DPI scaling was incorrectly implemented on the About box and Splash Screen resulting in incorrect formatting of Text and images in those dialog boxes.
3) On Windows, with Har-Bal installed in a folder whose path contained extended characters (ie. beyond the ASCII range of 0-127) or whose user name contained extended characters, Har-Bal would fail to run and licensing would fail.
We recommend that you download and install the latest version.
Log in with your customer name and version 3.7 order number from your previous version 3.7 purchase or upgrade. Please note that for Windows users, to obtain a clean install you must first uninstall the previous Har-Bal 3.7 release you have installed. Also, if you installed 3.7 release 4 prior to the 3rd of June 2018 (a pre-release was available prior to formal release) and installed on a Windows platform then we recommend you re-download 3.7 release 4, as your existing install will not have the fix for extended characters in paths.

Paavo & Earle.
