Hi,

Probably a basic question but every time I start MC6 I have to Edit>Preferences>Midi>Devices and check my USB keyboard in the instruments. It then works fine but MC doesn't save it so I have to do the same thing next time I open it. Any ideas?

wish I could help you out.

My only advice would be DO NOT contact the company for assistance. I tried that, it's been 2 months and I haven't heard ANYTHING.

I resorted to trial and error to sort out my problem. So I guess there's my advice, try all kinds of things in MC6 to get it to remember your settings. It's really annoying when bugs exist and do not get addressed by the staff.

I (beginner myself) had the same problem in the beginning. I eventually realized  that it was linked to starting MC6 while the keyboard was switched off or disconnected. Now that I leave it on and connected permanently, I never had to set it up again. Could that be the case for you as well?

Is the keyboard on when you launch SONAR, not only connected? Does your keyboard require a driver, as many do, and is the driver up to date? What keyboard is it?

MC6 does remember your MIDI devices and does not (by design) require you to enter this each time that you use MC.  However, MC looks to see what devices are available when it starts up and drops devices from its settings that are not available when it starts up.  Make sure that your keyboard/midi device are powered up and running on your computer before starting Music Creator.  Also, if you are using a multi-port USB hub your computer may need to install a driver for (seemingly randomly) the keyboard until a driver is associated with each of the logical ports on the USB hub.

It does work how you are expecting it to.  There is something else going on here like powering things up out of sequence.
