Anyone know how to create a good tremolo (fast bowing) effect in SI Strings?

Looking at SI Strings I can't see any way to do this with just the instrument itself.  However, you could use a tremolo plugin.  Meldaproduction makes a range of free plugins including an excellent Tremolo effect

I don't think tremolo and "fast bowing" are the same thing.  And neither are possible in SI Strings.

Ah.  Didn't know that, thank you.  I only knew of the amplitude variation version.  I imagine it's usually done with a to and fro motion of the bow.

You can set up a series of 1/32 notes and SI Strings will sort of do this (but not to and fro), but it sounds pretty bad.  A bit better with a slower attack but not much.

Thanks for the replies. I definitely meant "fast bowing", often called tremolo strings but not the same as audio effect tremolo. I gave up on SI Strings for that and used a Roland synth but still looking at other software strings for the future.

I experimented with fast bowing using the AAS String Studio and I think it might give you what you want.  It was relatively easy, and i get the impression there's a lot of flexibility in implementation. PM me if you'd like to hear a sample and I'll email a sample WAV.

Gotta love AAS. String Studio VS-2 is no exception. Even the basic Bowed - Violin 1 preset sounds nice.

I should have mentioned using the arpeggiator.  While not very sophisticated, it seemed up to the task of rapid repetition.  It's also about as easy to use as any I've seen.
