Yeah, keep them. They don't take up a lot of space. I've even made duplicates of Sonar 8.5. Last night I fired up my old Gateway with W98 and Home Studio 2000. I needed to check some things for an old piece against the revised version I'm working on. Came in very handy.

Disco demolition!

I'd just moved to Chicago the year before and didn't attend. Never forgiven myself for that. What a blast!

Well, you can't legally sell or give them away, so it's either hang on to them or toss them out. I've held on to all my old disks. Most of them I've removed from their original packaging, allowing me to store maybe 200 disks in one shoebox. It saved my bacon when thieves cleaned out everything but overlooked a tattered shoebox in the cupboard.

A tedious job but I make digital back ups, ISO,  of all my software and then toss the disks. It's getting so DVD drives are not even included on laptops. Disk are easily scratched too.
I have a "Software" folder and in it are subfolders for the different types, like music, office apps etc.
I think that folder is 50 GB now. But everything is in it even drivers for old printers I don't own anymore.
I have Cakewalk going back to Guitar Studio6? and all are just ISO images of the original disks.
I keep a notepad document with serial numbers inside each subfolder.

This Software folder is backed up on a few hard drives some are very old now but still work. Now you could even use a thumb drive. I have it even stored off site at work.

Disco demolition!
I was there that night at Comisky Park. I believe the Loop 97.9 radio station sponsored this. It was definitely a BLAST, but as a fan they $%& up the field.

Steve Dahl was the DJ who was behind the Disco demolition night.  I partied with him at a softball game they used to hold when he still a DJ at a Detroit station!

Ah, the quintessential stoners radio station WABX. I (almost) remember it well...
