Dos anyone know any adjustments for optimizing performance performance of Music Creator Six. I switched from sonar producer 8.5 and extremely happy with this software. I am trying to get as low latency recording as possible, and minimize drop out when using quite a lot of VSTI midi plugins. I am using Asio for all, I freeze the tracks, and use the minimum amount of plugins. I have also don the basic win 7 adjustments. was wondering if there is something els I can do to improve performance. Also I save projects to my D drive, is this a good Idea?

I am using win 7, AMD A63420M

Does the interface support full native ASIO?  I looked on the M-Audio site to try to find out but didn't see ASIO in the specs so I'm thinking it probably doesn't...or else you'd be using ASIO and not ASIO4ALL.

If it does, I would recommend deleting ASIO4ALL from the computer and run the wave profiler using the ASIO driver.

If the interface is running some sort of codec as the sound card driver or using WDM or MME with ASIO4ALL as the wrapper, the best option would be to buy a new interface that uses USB to connect, and WILL support the full native ASIO driver.

In most cases, running ASIO will give you the best performance. Using anything else is a compromise of one variety or another.  Using ASIO4ALL is simply putting one more step in the processing of the music rather than running with the hardware and software that is optimized and designed for music production of the kind we do here.

Hello Herb,

Thanks for the good advice, I will check out the possibility of removing ASIO4ALL. Im planing to replace my interface with a Focusrite soon, so that should fix it, thanks, Blake Weston
