Thanks for listening Matt, the sound you refer to is programmed drum rolls from SD 2, it is going through Boz Digital's +10db compressor it also has a lot of reverb.  To achieve it I use a modified kit with its own Drum Map.  The DM has two notes for the snare which can then be programmed to play a roll as you would do if you were playing a real roll on a snare drum, i.e. two hits with each stick alternately. Mum-ma Dad-da.  Then with some editing of velocities and nudging of timing of the hits to make each one different.  The Swell is achieved purely with velocity changes.  I use SD 2 for this as the number of available velocity variants/hit is quite high across the range.

The tune is a mixture of playing and editing, the fur and claws get caught in the keys , so again I play the ideas and then use CbB's powerful MIDI editing tools to tidy up the mess I make with these furry paws.  MIDI Keyboard controller replacement costs are high here at The 4077.

A beautiful laid back, relaxing piece.  I don't know doodle squat about synths, MIDI, or any of that stuff but I do know that I sure like the stuff that you have been posting!

This is the kind of mood song that can soothe the savage breast.  I'd like to hear what you can do with a more contemporaneous sounding synth and maybe a little more adventurous arrangement.  Sometimes, I get the feeling that you're holding back, so let it fly!
