Anyone know if someone has a 64bit version of the SSL Listen Mic Compressor? SSL's is great, it's free, but it is a legacy product and 32bit only.

I see all kinds of versions of their various console bus compressors, but not this one.

Does the 32-bit version not work?
 

Works in SONAR, b/c of BitBridge, but doesn't in Harrison Mixbus, which is where I like to mix nowadays.

I have searched, but not found if there is any way to use BitBridge outside of SONAR. I suppose I could try JBridge, but I grow tired of having to use all kinds of translators, wrappers, transcoders and miscellaneous intermediaries to get things to work together. (yeah, I know: says the guy tracking and editing in one DAW and mixing in another. )

use jbridge?

If Mixbus doesn't support bridging, then your best bet is to find something equivalent to substitute. Or freeze the effect on your vocal tracks before exporting into Mixbus.
 
 
IIRC the LMC was an emulation of the talkback mic compressor in SSL consoles. If I'm right about that, it should be possible to duplicate the effect using a compressor + EQ. Without having the plugin myself, I can't tell you exactly how to do that, but here's where I'd start... insert your favorite general-purpose compressor and set attack and release times to ~300 ms. Crank up the compression ratio to 10:1 or so. Set a low threshold. You'll probably also need to insert an equalizer to simulate the LMC's limited bandwidth.
 
If I can find a copy of LMC-1 I'll run it through PluginDoctor and then be able to be more specific.

OK, I've got a pretty close emulation of LMC-1 using two FabFilter plugins: Pro-Q and Pro-C. However, you should be able to get there using many generic EQs and compressors. Later, I intend to try and duplicate it using only free plugins, probably starting with the Meldaproduction freebie suite.
 
I've decided to document the process that got me here as a follow-up to my DDMF PluginDoctor review, as that was my primary tool for figuring out exactly what LMC-1 does. Until then, here's the short version:
 
Pro-Q: -12 db/oct low-cut @ 400Hz, -12 dB/oct high-cut @4 KHz
Pro-C: 8:1 ratio, fastest attack and release, hard knee

I don't remember exactly how I did,but I know I have 32 bits plug-ins working in Ardour and Mixbus via J bridge.
I think it is something like opening Jbridge and tell it to put the selected plug-in in the 64 bits vst folder.
Sorry not not to be clear ,just to say that a turnaround is possible.
