OK, I've got a pretty close emulation of LMC-1 using two FabFilter plugins: Pro-Q and Pro-C. However, you should be able to get there using many generic EQs and compressors. Later, I intend to try and duplicate it using only free plugins, probably starting with the Meldaproduction freebie suite.
I've decided to document the process that got me here as a follow-up to my
DDMF PluginDoctor review, as that was my primary tool for figuring out exactly what LMC-1 does. Until then, here's the short version:
Pro-Q: -12 db/oct low-cut @ 400Hz, -12 dB/oct high-cut @4 KHz
Pro-C: 8:1 ratio, fastest attack and release, hard knee
