Hi,
I have been using MC6 for 5 years. I make decent demos and am not very tech savy.
I pushed a wrong button somewhere and now I cannot record. I use Roland Tri Capture.
Playback is fine.
I cannot dedicate a track left , right, or stereo. Track inspector only lists left synth drums or right synth drums. Sometimes says"omni".
Can't get red record button to light.
Can anyone please help? I will pay for tech help.
Thanks, Dennis

Make sure the Roland Tri Capture is setup in MC6. Here are the instructions. Then try adding an audio track to the project.

Hi ,
Thanks. I have plain MC6.
I tried what you said. I get a "specify audio timing  master devices and default audio settings" at top of window. I don't know what that means. Otherwise I switch to ASIO, the "Apply" doesn't seem to actually  "take".
Nothing change. I cannot dedicate a track to record.
All I get  on track inspector is synth drums left, synth drums right, synth drums stereo. Top record button will not light.
What is wrong?

Please help!

Thanks,

Dennis

Welcome to the forum.
You have to tell MC what device to use for recording (Record Timing Master) and playback (Playback Timing Master). There should be drop-down arrows in those boxes with available devices. Select the Tri-Capture.

Hi,
I have playback device: Tri Capture Out.  recording device; Tri Capture In.
What now?
It has something to do with synth drums blocking my left/right/stereo on track inspector.
I can playback, but not record. help please.

If the synth drums are the only input you see, that's probably a MIDI track.
Try an audio track.

Output is tri capture out
input is tri capture in
playback is ok
When I change to ASIO, top of screen says,
"specify audio timing master devices  and default audio settings". (??)
and "apply" doesn't take.
Tracks are not in midi
Track inspector puts  synth drums right, synth drums left, synth drums stereo,
and I cannot dedicate track.
Please any help?
Thanks,
Dennis

What are the 'synth drums'?
How are they connected to the computer?
If they are capable of sending audio via USB and are connected thusly, that is an audio interface and if they have ASIO drivers, that may be overriding the Roland ASIO drivers. Only one ASIO driver can be used at a time.
Confirm that you are using true ASIO drivers and not ASIO4All.
An audio track cannot have an input option of "Omni".

Hi,

The synth drums comes with MC6. I dont know how they are connected up. I have used them alot previously.
I dont completely understand what you are saying about usb.
When it says track selection, I cant select, and drop down says source "none" for any track.
I guess there is no fixing this.
I would pay for tech support.
Isnt there any service?
I guess I could re install.

Thanks for your help.
