Quick Q - Can the virtual instruments that come with MC6 also be used in my Sonar X2 Producer?

yes.  all virtual instruments in MC are VST2 based and can be used in Sonar.  in fact, unless you've turned automatic scanning off, sonar will find them automatically.

Just out of curiosity, what's in MC6 that isn't in X2Producer?

Apparently doesn't like dogs.
Wait. This isn't the Coffee House.
Yes, you can use almost any VST in any Cakewalk DAW program.

Jason, did you get my PM?

Beagle
he can't send or receive PM's until he's hit 25 posts.

It's OK greg - I'm used to being overlooked, being on short legs and all! :)

Beagle...not ignoring you...I have short legs too...Anyway...I sent Bob an e-mail telling him to share it with you...
Glad to see another Ft Worth person here...Let's talk...

Greg, Thanks for replying to my inane posts...have sequenced hundreds of full blown songs using Cakewalk. I'd like to meet someone who has sequenced more than I have...that person would have a lot to share...
Started with dos 3.1...but feel like a newbie...I've always used Pro Tools for Audio and Cakewalk for cwp/midi projects, since the dos versions didn't handle audio recording...then combined them. It's the way I learned to use this stuff. It's kind long division, but effective none the less...Finally I'm trying to consolidate my work flow using Sonar X2 Producer only, and it's led me to a bunch of questions...ergo...I'm here...MC6 is for a specific purpose (live situation only to play back the cwp/midi tracks using a new laptop with Windows 8 on it)...That has spurred an array of unanswered questions I hope to have answered here...I know there has to be others with similar q's...

***Post #17...come on 25...I know you're out there...

Again thanks for all your help...This forum is extremely user friendly...cant say that about most forums I've visited

There are a number of Cakers in the DFW area.  Probably enough for a DFW chapter of Cakers.....Although..... saying that really isn't saying much since it's such a large area. You can be in the same town and still be nearly 2 hours away, as I discovered when I visited there last spring.

I was hoping to visit with Beagle but he was well over and hour across the city. Then I discovered, after I returned to NC that I was in the same town as another caker I was working with on a song collab and didn't realize it until I had returned home.

drat... double drat.

Guitarhacker...Cool...that's a shame you guys didn't meet...that's always a fun thing to do
I do some collabing if you're interested...

RobertB or Beagle...The e-mail that RobertB gave me comes back (mailer deamon)...I did get his private message here in the forum, so that part of this is working...just couldn't respond (dreaded 25) other than through my own email with the link he provided...grrr
Would you have him, or you private, me a good e-mail so we can talk...
Thanks
