Answer from Native Instruments abut trouble with Komplete Kontrol S61 and Cakewalk:

Marcel S. @ NI Today at 16:11

Sorry to disappoint you, Cakewalk by BandLab is not part of the supported DAWs as you can see here:

Important Notes about KOMPLETE KONTROL MK1 Host Integration

It must also be different in its architecture than Sonar by the looks of it.

You stated that the issue occurs also using Studio One. Let's focus on this instead.

Could you please send us a short video (taken with your mobile) showing us the steps that reproduce the issue?

Best regards,
Marcel S. @ NI

They don't like to support it now that it's free?

Looks more like support just blew it off. CbB is essentially SONAR 2018-11. Controller support was not changed between 2018-10 and CbB. Also there is a generic listing in the link for "Other hosts with MCU support" which is all the SONAR and CbB support anyway.

Yeah.  It works EXACTLY the same way it did in Sonar.  Already played and tested.

It does.
Think BandLab need to update them on Cakewalk.

By the way. I told them the problem was the same on Cakewalk, Sonar and Studio One...

I am really disapointed by Native Instruments.

NI support hasn't been good (IMO) for a long time.

Here was my answer:

How can they make the architecture different in just a month? It is the same people programming just new owners! Sorry, but I dont believe you there. And Cakewalk Sonar is also NOT WORKING! It is the same program, just with some minor changes. Cakewalk by BandLab is the continuation of Cakewalk and the DAW Sonar. Just a name change because the Gibson version is still in sale, but BandLab owns the rights to the code now. The same people are working on the DAW as when it was owned by Gibson.
