  • Sorry to disappoint you, Cakewalk by BandLab is not part of the supported DAWs (p.2)

NI was never supporting Sonar. They are sending a bunch of notes on channel 1 and may be reply on "Are you Mackie?" with proper "Yes, I am...". That is what "Transport control" for Sonar and other unsupported hosts means in the table.

There is no required function in ACT to implement track selection and focus. Cakewalk has "hacked" something for Console 1, but I guess on VST extension level, not in ACT.

In general, Cakewalk ignore surfaces, surface producers ignore Cakewalk.

Pretty much.

I am really disapointed by Native Instruments.

Native Instruments have caused me various headaches over the years.
Their website kept getting flagged as a 'potentially dangerous site' by Microsoft web browsers which made logging in a ball-ache.
Their servers would periodically go off line.
Their support is slow to respond and rarely helpful - usually pointing you in the direction of some other unhelpful post.
I get the feeling they are either shrinking or treading water - I may be wrong though!

For me, i toss out NI before i toss out CbB.

He was arguing to check the Studio One, but that stated working after an update.

But Cakewalk Sonar is still on their supported DAW list:
https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/210280325-Important-Notes-about-KOMPLETE-KONTROL-MK1-Host-Integration

And as Gibson and BandLab had done now, yes there is noe new developing of Sonar, but it is not dead. It is still a working DAW, you can buy it, if your stupid enough (now CbB is free).

So if there is a change that brakes it, I dont think there is anybody other than NI to blame.

As I have mentioned before, "Supported" are hosts with special integration. Sonar just has MCU plug-in, so they could put "transport" checkbox near it.
BTW, what exactly is your problem? Note that companies do not pay commercial price of some people in this forum (otherwise the DAW/devices price will have at least one zero more). I mean based on money they usually pay "support" personal, a cleaning woman can give you better advise about DAWs

I think the same goes for Studio One. Both lack the same in functions.

If you see there, my problem is not dependent on MCU. Only transport control needs that. All other DAWs should be able to have full plugin control. I dont use transport control.

The Keyboard do not get any info from the VST (Komplete Kontrol) and the VST does not react to input. other than normal midi keyboard.

They work in Studio One and Cubase.

Got answer from NI right now and they have finaly made this a bug report. So hopfully in the next update of "Komplete Kontroll.exe" will have a fix. He told me i could add more info if i needed so if more people have problems line this, i can give it and they will listen in that petition. Bit i dont think thay will be happy about petitions for Cakewalk intergation of more that plugin controll via Keyboard and Machine.
