Hi Good Day,

I cant seem to find reference in RME manual, can anyone tell me if I should setting, from TotalMix menu,  Options/Operational mode, to Full Mode or DAW Mode, when recording and mixing in Sonar? Also implications of using one or the other mode?
Any guidance would be appreciated.

Cheers

I use full mode, because I can configure it any way I want to.

DAW mode is simpler to deal with, but removes most of the mixer settings, the software playback channels and most routing functions, so all routing and (I think - away from DAW so can't check) monitoring has to be set up in the DAW.

Trying DAW mode won't hurt anything, and if you then reset totalmix back to full mode it should restore the last settings used in full mode.

Great thanks, Ill try it out, the restore part is what I wasn't sure about also. So in someways as it sounds I may prefer working in DAW mode, when doing so, but I guess Id have to revert to Full mode anyway when Im using UFX as a live mixer. (not with DAW).
Much appreciate your time
Cheers

TotalMix is so comprehensive for what seems like such a small interface. Can be mind numbingly complex. Just take a Valium and relax. Lol. As with most things digital you can reset to factory default if you go too crazy with routing experiments.
Once you get it though it's really impressive.

What Ive found is so "mind numbingly complex"  is its so easy, LOL. It's like it can't be as easy as clicking on a fader to route to, there must be a long chain of menus choices to go through and select, until you realize, wow, it was that easy. LOL.
(PS, I prefer a more organic elixir)
