OK, I finally upgraded from GT2 to GT4 and I'm having a problem. I'm using Windows 7 64 bit on a new HP computer. When I start the program and select "Create New Project", I put in a name, file locations and Template = Normal. Then after I click OK I get a blank control panel. When I try to add tracks, I get New Project File pop  up again. When I fill it in and click OK, theres still no tracks in the control panel. What gives? How do I add Tracks to a new project? I can open templates, and projects I created in GT2 no problem.

Thanks

I haven't seen this problem, but you did patch GTP4 correct?  When it originally came out it was before Windows 7 and I think I recall hearing some people having trouble with it on Win7 until the patch came out that added support.

If that doesn't work then I'd say ping support, I'm afraid I wouldn't know where to start on this one.

Good luck

I believe the the latest version is 4.0.5.6. I f you go the top of this page, under support, you will get a drop-down where you can choose support by product, pick GTP4. Hopefully this will help, and there is something I remember about running as Administrator first time, then holding shift while you open, I'm not sure. Hopefully someone can chime in and clarify, and if need be call support, good luck!

I haven't used my GTP4 software for awhile until today.  I'm having the exact same problem as tallen creating a new project....can't add tracks.  I'm using the 4.0.5.6 software version.

Existing projects play fine and I can add tracks to them for some reason.

Thanks for any assistance.

Thanks for the thoughts. I do have the latest version 4.0.5.6. But I still can't find a way to do a NEW project. I can just use templates or modify an existing file and move on with life. Also frustrating that it will only record 1 stereo track at a time form my Tascam US-800 USB2 interface. Oh well, I guess you get what you pay for...

I found a way to open a "New" project. Open up a project you have saved or a sample from GT. Now save it as a Template with the name Normal. This will over right the default Normal template file with your tracks and other settings. Just delete the old tracks and resave the template. Now you have a blank project to start with.
