Hi, Dos anyone know if I can disable the scan for new plugins every time I load Music Creator 6. Also, is it possible to save audio files in a Template? Very impressed with Music Creator Six. Blake

Look in Preferences > File > VST Settings

Track templates do not store audio or MIDI data.

Yes you can.  It makes loading the program so much faster.

Scan manually, only after you add new stuff to the computer.

As Scook noted, no it is not.
A template is just that. It defines the workspace, without specific project data(the audio and MIDI files).
This can save time, as you don't have to set up the same parameters repeatedly.

Once you have recorded some tracks, Save As a Project file(cwp).
This will contain the information in the template plus markers that tell MC which audio files are associated with this project. The actual audio files are stored in a separate folder.

This would be a good time to browse the Help files. Now that you've poked around in MC, much of what you read will start to make more sense. You might be surprised at what you can do, and may never think to ask about.

Create a project.
Add tracks, buses, audio and/or MIDI data, set up ins and outs.
Save as a project called My Template or something like that.
Open it whenever you want to start a new song and save with a different name in the Cakewalk Projects folder once you've recorded your new tracks.
It's not exactly a Template file, but it works for me.

I had thought of doing it the way Greg mentioned....

Problem with that is, none of my songs are really the same. Besides, I know how to set up a song project the way I want and it takes  only about 30 seconds to set the project up.  So I never really bothered to take the time to do a template of sorts in that manner.
