1.  Vir2 is not responding to support tickets.
2.  The Contact Form is set up so you cannot see what you are typing.  Hard to fill out a form and register an issue when the fields all appear blank.
3.  It took me a long time to complete the form, and then, when I tried to Submit it, I got a message that I can only send the form once.
4.  Here are the Electri6ity issues I am trying to resolve:
  • I love the sound but can't get the product to do anything usable.
  • Volume is all over the place.  Some notes are extremely quiet while others are loud.  (Same velocity and controller messages.)
  • The scripting is trying to be too smart about choosing which strings to play.  I often cannot get the product to play two notes at the same time, even though they can easily be played at the same time on an actual guitar.  (Examples: C and E.).  I am in Poly Mode.
I find this product quite unusable and the support very bad.  That's a shame because I like Acoustic Legends.

Interesting Konrad,

the kind of interesting I bet you could do without !.

I'll be interested to know how things turn out.
I'd taken a look before and thought I might get Electri6ity some time in the future.

Hope it all comes through good for you.

Take care :-)

Cheers - Cliff

I have always liked Vir2 and I love Acoustic Legends.  The sounds in Electri6ity are great.  I just think there are either some issues with the scripting or else some possible need for clearer directions.

I want to like this product.

In the meantime, my trusty MusicLab RealStrat and RealLPC and handling things.

Too late for me. I purchased Electri6ty prior to X3. I cannot even load the Kontact player without totally crashing X3. It was advertised as a VST usable in Sonar. As far as your velocity issues, In my case it was my "piece of junk" M-Audio 88es. I've got an Alesis Vortex which gives me awesome control. Don't purchase the 88 key Alesis as it's the same piece with a different logo. My old EMU Proteus PK6 does a much better job than the M-Audio. Vir2 did send me an email with details on how to modify the velocity curve. I'll dig it up and post it.

Try these geetars....I just scored 6 hours of a reality cable tv series heavy in geetar music and used these two guitar libraries  and had no issues.   I bought the Orange Tree "strawberry" on sale. Both are good "bangs for the buck".

I've been using Electr6ity for a few years now, and it is not an easy program to work with!  It's always a struggle getting what I want from it.  I think partly due to its complexity.. you really have to learn it well to get the most out of it.  Unfortunately I don't have 3 weeks to do that.  ; )

Thanks for all the feedback.  I actually love RealStrat and RealLPC (and RealGuitar) from MusicLab.  Hook those up with Guitar Rig or your amp/effect rack of choice and you're all set.

Shame about Electricity.

By the way, VIR2 (who brought us Acoustic Legends HD which is good for solo guitar parts) has a new acoustic product out.  I am curious to see if it is as flexible as RealGuitar for strumming since it is good to have an arsenal of different guitar sounds.  What is awesome about RealtGuitar strumming is that RG recognizes lots of chords—pretty much everything you are liekly to need—but you can put it in Solo Mode with pattern playing on and create your own bizarre chords.  I have several products that sound good but have only major and minor chords and that just won't cut it for The Mighty Konrad.

I use both Vir2 Electri6ity and Acou6tics -  Yes; these are very complex instruments and not immediately user-friendly, but if you are prepared to spend the time tinkering with the keyswitches and controllers, they certainly provide accurate emulations of the real thing and my results have so far been most satisfying.
these are my only guitar VSTi's, so I have cannot make comparisons to other products. However, I suppose it is like adapting to any alternative control logic - you just learn to steer in a different way - oh, and you need a 109-note keyboard too (I use a 61 note, a 49 note and a NI Maschine combined)!

I hope Vir2 tweak the products further; articulated feedback, deselecting strings so that they play open in conjunction with three-note chords, out-of-phase pickup selection on the strat, possible different chord structures for different tunings (DADGAD etc).

Perhaps I should just loearn to play the guitar better, eh?!!!

Steve, I am glad these are working out for you.  Electr6ity does have a nice selection of guitars.
