The problem is that in Europe this type of agreement has been ruled invalid. So a user CAN legally sell it, irrespective of the agreement.

Technically you cannot sell any copy of Sonar. 
The buyer would not be able to register it. 
But because X1 used the old system you could get maybe $10 for it and that person could install it and use your registration numbers to get it working. But it's really not worth the bother breaking a law for $10. X1 was a turkey. Only an uninformed fool would buy it it.

 There's been lots of articles about it. Here's one which also suggests that even license transfer has to be provided by the developer which is news to me - of course this is Europe only as far as I know.

in the resale forums (kvr etc) users are selling whole accounts, which seems to be the way some non-eu companies are handling this stuff
