In celebration of Drum Month, Cakewalk has put together the first ever collection of Session Drummer 3 Quick Kits. These pre-mixed project templates load right from quick start menu in all three versions of SONAR X3 without any assembly required. Open a quick kit, drop in your sequence, and you’re ready to rock with great sounding drums. Happy drumming!

Well no freebie in my account .. hadn't been able to see anything new lately in my account, because supposedly there is a "problem" with my account that CW cant seem to fix ...Ive been promised that it would be fixed several times...this has gone on for several months now ...

I manage to get some drum sound by chosing another kit, than from the template intended, in the SD3 window and inserting an audio track i/o routed the way you describe it. The Master Bus doesn't find neither SD3 nor my sound card.
I thought something was corrupt in my system but since any other project, with or without SD3 runs smoothly, I don't.

Open Sonar, Create a new Project, select the template from there. If you don't see the templates you haven't copied them across to your project template folder (check my post carefully). Thanks.

A few questions should help figure out why you are having trouble.  Let's make sure of the following:

1) Are the files copied into your project template folder along with the rest that come with Sonar?  I find the instructions may be a little tricky for some.  The whole merge thing may throw some off.  The bottom line is that the files contained in the download file need to be copied into Cakewalk Content/Sonar X3 Producer/Project Templates
2) Does your quickstart menu currently contain anything other than the "normal" setting?  You should have a number of presets there and if not, these will not likely show either.  There is an easy fix to that if that is the case.
3) Do you have any other version of Sonar installed?  If so, double check in your preferences to make sure X3 is pointing to the right install and that you copied files into project template folder.  This is unlikely, but can occur if you move default settings on another install and use custom options on subsequent installs.

Great.  glad it worked out.  They are very good templates, although I would suggest studio and producer owners substitute some of the plugs and then re-save.  The ones used were used for compatibility across various versions of X3.

That's a great idea. These were obviously created for all versions and a great template that you can customize to your own taste.
