Just got this, its incredible! Havent compared to the rolands but this is amazing! No perceptible added latency and it does bends and everything! I never thought guitar synth could be like this!

Glad it worked for you...I had one and with a GK-3 and my Godin xTSA I never could get the tracking to work with soft synths the way it was 'advertised' to work. The software had way to many permutations of configurations and because it's not a widely used device I had a hard time trying to find any information on what settings folks were using that was working.

I have a GR-20 now and am very happy with it. How have you found the software? What kind of adjustments did you make?

I had a Godin with the Built in HEX pickup which was Really fast at tracking and things. I Also had a CASIO PG series which was terrible at tracking but a nice guitar to play.

Hi, Duojet,

Wow, that converter looks really cool. And you are having virtually no latnency or tracking issues when you're playing soft synths in your computer? If so, sign me up. I bought a Roland GR-1 back in the '90's when they first came out and loved it, though it was quite slow at tracking. Had to sell it to get out of a jam and I've always wanted another guitar synth. This box sounds like the real deal. What type of hex pickup are you using, or does your guitar have one built in? Have you tried this unit with external hardware synths? My Roland didn't really work very well when I tried to play sounds out of my XP-50 keyboard. I'm hoping the Axon is better at this than the Roland.

Thanks for the head's up abouthis unit. Now I'll have to start saving my pennies.......

How about fingerpicking a nylon-stringed Godin? I have one of those, and a GR-33 as well...

Hi, Cris,

I assume you mean one of the classical Godin's with the built in hex pickup? Sadly, due to an arthritus-related disease that has totally trashed almost all of the joints in my body, including my fingers, I can no longer play classical guitars (neck's too wide) or even standard steel string acoustics. I'm still able to play some on just about any electric guitar, however, though not with the same ability that I did before this condition got ahold of me (it started in the early '90's). So, that sort of thing is out for me. I've thought about buying a GR-33 but they seem to be hard to come by these days. Which explains why I'm very interested to hear about the Axon unit. I'd love to have a guitar synth that *really* does have almost no-latency tracking with *any* synth, software or hardware. When I had my GR-1, despite how cool it was, it had a long ways to go to become a low-latency tracker and it wasn't worth a hoot at triggering other hardware synths. I've heard that the GR-33's are much better at this than the GR-1's were.

I have set the levels of each string, and the quantize. I set all strings to the same midi channel and thats it. Not much more tweaking. Its working great. there is an odd note here and there but very very few. I can't believe how well it tracks bends and slides. it does have some limitations but very minor.
