Hi, Duojet,

Wow, that converter looks really cool. And you are having virtually no latnency or tracking issues when you're playing soft synths in your computer? If so, sign me up. I bought a Roland GR-1 back in the '90's when they first came out and loved it, though it was quite slow at tracking. Had to sell it to get out of a jam and I've always wanted another guitar synth. This box sounds like the real deal. What type of hex pickup are you using, or does your guitar have one built in? Have you tried this unit with external hardware synths? My Roland didn't really work very well when I tried to play sounds out of my XP-50 keyboard. I'm hoping the Axon is better at this than the Roland.

Thanks for the head's up abouthis unit. Now I'll have to start saving my pennies.......

Bill

No "noticable" additional latency to my EMU 1820M which is set to 3ms latency. This combined with the Axon is very playable. Like I said in a previous post, there is an odd note here and there but very few. If your technique is relatively clean you will get great results. As a guitar player when you do midi, you have to get out of some habits like the muted "chick chick" type rhythm things (think nirvana smells like teen spirit). As long as you are playing actual notes it sounds great. I am using it with kontakt 2 and its fantastic. I now have the urge to but more softsynths! I am using the Roland GK-2A that I used with my old GR-30. I have heard that the pickup does not make much difference.

One other great thing is there is no device driver to load. It uses the windows generic midi device driver. You only need to load the editor, but theoretically you could literally plug and play.

I have set the levels of each string, and the quantize. I set all strings to the same midi channel and thats it. Not much more tweaking. Its working great. there is an odd note here and there but very very few. I can't believe how well it tracks bends and slides. it does have some limitations but very minor.

For even more fun, set each string to its own MIDI channel, and rune each channel to its own synth. Put each synth in Monophonic (or Unison) mode. Then you can track chords with bends on individual notes. (Most synths can't handle that with just one MIDI channel.)

I recently picked up a passion for making music, and am searching for some of the best soft and hardware products to use, bought an used axon ax 50... all complete but the registration code for fl studio 6 express... the seller tells me he ain't got it. have no idea but i think the program is very important.

are there users who can tell me about experiencing the axon ax50 and using software for it... contact me at facebook.com/oscar.v.son

second problem i found was while installing the editor for axon ax 50 usb... if i open the program it stops telling me there is a problem with the program. can only choose to stop and look for online solutions. no links are shown.
i'm using it on a Toshiba Satellite laptop, windows 7, 64bit...

This is a very old thread that you have resurrected.

FL studio is recording software. A DAW (digital audio workstation). From that point of view in connection to an AX50 it's not important as any DAW will do. He DAW acts as a host for the Software that creates the music.

THE AX50 and AX100 have been out of production and support for quite a few years now.

Here is a SoundOnSound review of the AX50 that may give you some more info on what you have bought.
