This might be the wrong forum. I really don't know where or who to ask.

Suppose I have music sheets for different instruments (drums, bass, guitar, keyboard) for a particular song. For each instrument, I want to enter all the notes into the music software, then press "Play".

Which music software can do that?

I'm not an expert on the subject, but Sibelius should be the best, if it still exists. In that and some other heavy duty notation software you can also scan the sheet music.
SONARs staff view works also, but it isn't near as sophisticated as the notation-focused ones, and it doesn't support scanning.

You can do that with Sonar X3 or Music Creator.
As Kalle noted, the staff view is not sophisticated, but it is functional.
Essentially, you enter your notes in the staff view, which is actually MIDI data.
This, in turn, is sent to a soft synth, which plays the notes.
Depending on the soft synth, some instruments may be more convincing than others.
If you are just looking to get a general idea of how a song will sound, it's pretty easy.
If you want a more elaborate rendition, it can still be done, but will take more effort on your part.
Are you wanting to present a song to real musicians, or do you want a fully rendered production?

Hi,

Pigwart12, above in posts, suggests you have a look at 'MUSESCORE' which is, apparently, composition freeware.
