So i want to get that effect used on the vocals in this track , Anyone got any ideas on what they did and how i can imitate it using the plugins included in Sonar platinum or maybe a free plugin somewhere .

Many thanks

You're gonna have to wait until Waves release the Waters-Gilmourator Mk2 Dan. The Mk1 was rubbish :)

Awesome vocals on that track, and they both have pretty unique voices so its gonna be a tough one. Taking a stab in the dark, a good mic (there is some serious air and space in those vox), some tight double tracking (vocal sync is your friend), the smoothest reverb you have (Lexicon Pantheon might do if you have it from Sonar 8.5, otherwise it's time to give Rematrix a spin) and your favourite delay is where I might start, but I suspect 90% of it is just those damned voices! Dudes were freakin' brilliant.

2 completely different styles of vocals. Gilmour is smooth & creamy, Waters is rough & jagged.

Good luck!!!

Thanks for the reply , Very helpful , Unlike the other wannabe comedians who literally offer nothing constructive to my question.
Should be treated as spam or they should simply keep their comedy routines for family member who may laugh out of pity .

Those two posts that seem worthless may do you a favor in that they bumped your thread. That could mean more people notice it. Which means you may get more answers.

You are right in that those posts did nothing to answer your question. However one can choose to see them in a good light and see the usefulness of them or become irritated and upset. Its up to you.

What I meant was that the engineer in the mix has a lot to do with the sound...Yes, it was toungue in cheek, but not entirely untrue...

That too. I didn't say that but I saw the connection.

I think Water's verse vocals have a short slap-back delay which gives a little sibilance, and a longer delay flown in as and when it's needed (''stand up..stand up''..etc). Gilmour's chorus vocals sound tightly double (or even triple tracked with a harmony) to me, but centred, not panned. Plus a small plate reverb on both?
