I don"t know if this id the right place to post,if not please advise. I have used proaudio 9 for years until my hard drive was corrupted and became unreliable. I bought a new desktop with windows 8 and set it to XP mode and everything works except that I cannot print the music which I have recorded in midi, which it would do before. I then got an old desktop which had Vista thinking this would work but it does"nt.I am desperate to print out my music. Is there any reason for the above or is there anything I can do to  print out the score?

What happens if you print to a document file?

Windows 8 does not have an "XP mode" which was an XP virtual machine running in Win 7 Pro. I assume you mean you have installed the program in compatibility mode for XP. In any event, how far are you getting in the print process? With the staff view in focus, can you choose file> print preview, and get an image of the page? Can you select a rastral size in the print preview dialog? Can you get to the Windows print dialog to select your printer?

It is still possible to install Win XP in a virtual machine under Windows 8, but if you do so you may not have access to the computer connected peripherals from within the virtual machine. Can you print a Windows test page from within Windows to the printer you are trying to use?

Hi, starting with the last question first yes I have printed a test  page.  If i go to the staff view and go to file the print set up is in bold type but the print and print preview are greyed out so when you highlight them nothing happens.I called a computer tech. to come and see if he could help but he had no knowledge of music programs and all he could suggest was that because both vista and 8 were later versions something was preventing the computer talking to the printer.I have tried converting to a pdf file but don"t really know how to do this.I go to copy and paste and all I get is some weird windows opening askimg for tempo and other settings and nothing happens if you click to go on.I am really stuck but thanks for the replies Mojack

Was XP your previous operating system that worked with CWA9?

If it's that important to you, you can buy a copy of Win XP on Ebay for $20, then install it on the old Vista machine.

My old system used X P and I was able to print out my score fine until the hard drive  became corrupt and unreliable. Thanks for that I will try to get X P from Ebay and see if it works
