What interface do you have that costs less than $750 and what latency do you get?

I don't need more than 4 preamps.

paid 700 form my RME UC,
afaik no better brand than RME for latency and stability.
if you write me your current sample rate / buffer size I'll check what the RME has for those..

I use a Focusrite Scarlett 18i8. Even with my dated PC, my latency feels negligible to me. It's really, really short. Of course its a matter of taste as to what is acceptable.
The 18i8 has 4 combo 1/4" XLR's on the front. Sells for $350.
Edit:
Sonar reports 6 point something milliseconds for the latency of my Scarlett. I use 48KHz/24 with the ASIO driver.
I imagine it would be even faster on a newer system.
RE-Edit:
Okay, if the original poster is still interested...
I TOTALLY gave the wrong numbers for my Focusrite! (Sorry I'm still a nube!)
What Sonar atually says is:
Input- 6.3ms, 302 samples (ASIO drivers)
Output- 6.3ms, 302 samples (I have no idea what the samples have to do with anything, I would think MORE per second would be better???)
Total Roundtrip- 12.4ms, 604 Samples
Far cry from the low numbers everyone else is reporting. Just depends how much you have to spend, I guess.
Good Luck!

RME Babyface Pro.
At 44.1 kHz, 128 samples, the round trip latency reads 7.32ms.
At 48kHz, 64 samples, it get 3.98ms
Best interface I ever owned. Period.

Rme as others stated (UCX user here) , but i own a roland ua mobile ( for school ) and its drivers are crazy ... lower than any usb stuff i checked ( 32 samples) , so be sure to check the big dog Roland UA , it s like a babyface , 32 bits resolution , dsd , top built quality ... can t comment on the preamps ...

RME, Lynx (tho I doubt you can find one for your price).

I've got a TASCAM US series and it has a USB 3 latency of about 6 or so.  It is about half the price you are looking at.

This really belongs in the hardware forum where you'll find at least 3 or 4 threads on the topic running right now.
latency performance is more dependant on Driver stability at lower settings and that your system can also handle the extra work.
I can get my Scarlett down to below 5ms but it won't be as stable as an RME at that setting. So once again. The top performer seems to be RME and then Lynx then Motu etc. USB 3 has no bearing on latency apparently, go read those other threads to see why.
Here's my shopping list for interfaces,, there are lots of option to think about

yeah, I usually don't move them immediately but it has spent enough time here

MOTU AVB Ultralite... goes for 600 to 800 depending on where you buy ... and has excellent drivers which just got improved once more and now probably even beat RME ... see my comments in the other thread about the new drivers (can't paste link from cell phone)

RME, MOTU, and Lynx are all great performers with low round-trip latency.

At the sub $750 mark, I'd recommend MOTU.
RME has their Babyface Pro (two channels of analog I/O with two mic preamps).
Otherwise, if you go RME... you'd have to go used to keep the cost below $750.
