ohhh and what I do if I can recover a mis-processed track and I've done a lot of things to the project that I want to keep...in preferences>advanced I enable multiple projects, open the file with the desired correct track in "saftey" mode, place the projects side by side, then copy the track(s) into the final project.   Of course you better have different names for the project versions.

You can also try reverting the project to see if you can get past the bounce. Make sure to save the reverted file as something else, then copy the un-bounced track back into the "good" project.

won't help this time, but I always make a backup archive of important tracks that I am going to tweak around with (especially when the singer is overseas and not returning) , and of course have backups of all files on a separate drive in case I screw up or accidentally delete something - which I have done quite a few times.
